Baseball Athletic Director

St. Anastasia offers baseball for boys and girls aged 4 to 10 years old. All children play and there are no try-outs.
Weather permitting, practice generally starts in late March or early April and the season ends in early to mid-June depending upon the post-season schedule.

Instructional Play

T-ball is available to children aged 4 and 5. Practice is generally one time per week with play with other teams on Saturdays. Practice is arranged by the coach and is usually at Memorial Field in Douglaston. Saturday the team will meet with other teams at Preller Field in Bellerose.

Machine Pitch

Machine pitch baseball is offered to children aged 6 and 7. Practice is generally held one time per week and is arranged by the coach and usually held at Memorial Field in Douglaston. Games are played at Preller Field in Bellerose twice per week (one weekday and one weekend game).

Transition from Machine to Player-pitch Baseball

If registration number permits, 8-year-old children will start the season with machine pitch and then transition to kid pitch baseball. Practice is generally held one time per week and is arranged by the coach and usually held at Memorial Field in Douglaston. Games are played at Preller Field in Bellerose twice per week (one weekday and one weekend game).

Competitive Player-pitch

9 and 10-year-old players play competitive player-pitch baseball. Practice is generally held once or twice per week at Memorial Field at the coach’s discretion. Games can be played during the week or on weekends and field location depends upon the team being played.
